Policies & Procedures
SEBHS Cell Phone Policy
There is zero cell phone, tablet, Airpods(wireless) or other non-school issued electronic device use in the classroom or hallways. Students will have a Chromebook for any technology needs, which will be monitored by the teacher. Students are to have wired earbuds for the classroom. Cell phones should not be seen or heard in the classroom or in the hallways. Students may use phones during their assigned lunch.
1st Offense
The teacher will warn the student not to use the phone in the classroom or hallway and notify the parent of the inappropriate behavior. The parent contact must be logged in the Contact Login Infinite Campus (Label that contact log as “Phone-1st offense in IC”. The student will keep the phone and should not have it out again.
2nd Offense
The teacher will submit a referral in IC and call/email Mrs.Creasy to get an administrator to collect the phone until the end of the school day. The administrator will contact the parent and log it in IC as 2nd Offense. Students may collect the phone from Mrs. Creasy after the final dismissal bell.
3rd Offense (Repeated Offenses)
The teacher will submit a referral in IC (Label Phone- 3rd Offense)and call an administrator to collect the phone. The student will meet with the grade level administrator who will determine the consequence. The administrator will contact the parent and log it in IC.
SEBHS Progressive Discipline Procedures
These are the steps toward an office referral in Infinite Campus in regard to an accumulation of minor offenses for the SAME behavior. This does NOT apply to major offenses (i.e.physical aggression or profanity).
1st Offense- Conference with the student privately
2nd Offense- Contact parent (Document in I.C.)
3rd Offense- Period ISS (Cannot repeatedly go to ISS for same behavior)
4th Offense- Office Referral
SEBHS Exam Exemption Policy
Students may exempt mandatory final exams if they
meet ALL of the following criteria:
- Have 5 or fewer absences per class (ALL except School Related Absences)*
- Have no more than a total of 10 tardies/early dismissals per class
●Must have an 80 in the course**
*ISS and OSS assigned by an administrator counts as an absence.
**The cut off days for grades and attendance to determine if a student exempts their exam will be December 17th (Grades 9-12) and May 6th (Grade 12)/May 20th (Grades 9-11). Teachers will still take grades for course average until the last day of the semester.
Final Exams Dates: Grades 9-12: December 18th (3rd & 4th) and December 19th (1st & 2nd)
Grade 12: May 7 (3rd & 4th), May 8 (1st & 2nd)
Grades 9-11: May 21st (3rd & 4th), May 22nd (1st & 2nd)
Food Delivery Policy
∙ Students are NOT permitted to order food to be delivered during the school day. This includes but is not limited to: using UberEats, GrubHub, Door Dash or any other food delivery service.
∙ School deliveries from outside unknown resources are considered a Student Safety Risk.
∙ Deliveries made to the school by delivery persons of any type are not permitted and will be turned away.
∙ Only approved persons listed in Infinite Campus for the student will be permitted to drop off food.
∙ The student can come pick up the food from the front office during their designated lunch shift or pick it up after school.
Tardy Policy
A student is considered tardy to class if not inside the classroom when the bell rings. ALL tardies will be marked in Infinite Campus by the teacher. Consequences for tardies will be handled on a class-by-class basis, as follows:
Tardies 1 - 2: Verbal warning by the teacher.
Tardy 3: Confirmed parent contact and verbal warning of further consequences
Tardies 4+: The teacher will issue a lunch detention for each subsequent tardy.
