·    On Tuesday both girls and boys cross country teams participated in a large meet at Savannah Christian Prep School. The SEB Yellow Jackets boys teams placed 3rd out of 20 total teams and were edged out by a narrow margin by Savannah Christian and Savannah Arts Academy. Dillon Calhoun finished in 4th place overall out of close to 200 runners.
The girls team came in 5th place out of 17 teams competing. Sydney Whitaker was the Yellow Jackets top finisher placing 10th overall out of 198 total runners. The team will compete this weekend in Cartersville, GA at the "Wingfoot Classic" which is one of the largest cross country meets in the state of Georgia.    

·    All girls interested in basketball cheer need to report to Mrs. Brown’s room at 3:15 on Friday for a brief meeting.     

·        Congratulations to Aaliyah Sandifer for being selected as the senior class DAR Good Citizen!

·    SENIORS:  ONLY IF YOU PAID A SITTING FEE: You need to go to your online gallery using the information you received from Bowen Photography and follow the instructions to choose your pictures for the yearbook.  If you did not receive information regarding your online gallery you must contact Bowen Photography.  Ms. Burke does not have this information.  The gallery will close Monday, September 24th.  If you have not chosen by then, the yearbook staff will choose for you.  

·    There will be a boys basketball meeting Friday morning during club meeting in Lab 572 for all boys interested in playing basketball this year.

·    The Buzz in Cafe' will be selling Muffins, Sausage Biscuits, Pop-Tarts and candy today thru Friday. Thanks for your support!

·    Game Changers new members need to stop by Ms. Haaf's room to pick up your acceptance packet.  Last year's Game Changers need to see Ms. Haaf to pick up a application if you plan to join this year.  The first meeting will be Friday, Sept. 21 at 9:30 in Ms. Haaf's room-217.

·    There will be a mandatory STEM meeting Friday in Mrs. Hibbs room for all students interested in competing in Science Olympiad in order to solidify spots for the upcoming invitational on Nov. 17th. If you can’t attend the meeting, but you still want to compete, please see Sadie or Mrs. Hibbs ASAP!

·    HOSA will meet at 9:30 AM on Friday, Sept. 21 for Club Day.  New members welcome. Membership cards have not been completed; a sign in sheet will be sent to teachers. 

·    HOSA Fall Leadership conference will be held in Athens, GA November 5 - 6. Permission forms and fees are due no later than Thursday, September 27. Forms are available in room 112 and on Mrs. Pye's teacher webpage. Please see a HOSA Officer and/or Mrs. Pye for more information.

·    If you are interested in participating in the VFW Essay Contest, please see your English teacher, your Social Studies teacher, or Mrs. Mills.  First prize is $200.  The topic is "Why My Vote Matters".  

·    Seniors - Please return your two yellow forms to the guidance office - your BRAG sheet and your signed senior advisement form.  Also, you need to return your signed spring semester SPA if you are dual enrolled.

·    SENIORS--please get in your Senior forms with your quote and superlative choices! These are due by Friday, September 28th . You may turn them into Ms. Burke in room 304, or Mrs. Creasy in Guidance.  Extra forms are available in guidance.

·    Football on Friday at home with Beach High School (Cheer Alumni Night)

·    JV Football on Thursday at Metter

·    Volleyball on Thursday at home with Appling and Jenkins

·    Softball on Saturday at home for the SEB Diamond Day tournament

·    Cross Country on Saturday for the Wingfoot XC Classic at Sam Smith Park
